We have a date, speaker and topic set for our next AMS meeting. Karen Braun will be presenting on Tornado Cyclones as well as Vortex II. Karen is a part-time instructor here at the College of DuPage, and was also a participant in the Vortex II project in 2009 and 2010. She will be speaking about her experiences there as well as her work on tornado cyclones and their formation. This will be a joint meeting with the Chicago AMS, and we are excited to welcome them to our new facilities for the first time. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 13th at 7PM in room BIC-3504 at the College.

We are in the process of formulating some plans to attend one or more upcoming events as a group. The two events we are eyeing closely are the Severe Storms & Doppler Radar Conference and the Great Lakes Meteorological Conference. Click the links below to learn more about both events, and let us know if you think you would like to attend. We don’t have any definite plans at this time, but we wanted to get the word out there.
